In the  Summer of 2015 and continuing into the Autumn and Winter it didn't stop raining. In December, Hebden Bridge was flooded, the worst floods the valley had ever seen. Taking inspiration from the watery weather, I created a series of flying and swimming over Hebden, continuing my theme of created fairy tales. This is the result.

The following paintings and monoprints are inspired by the Rochdale canal outside my studio and Hebden beck where I frequently walk with my dog. I paint in a direct, loose and expressive manner, using bold colour and marks and painting intuitively and from the heart.
